Membership

The International Health Literacy Association is run by and for its members and is broadly inclusive of people promoting health literacy in many different contexts. We are dedicated to creating an international voice raising world-wide awareness and believe that together our passion for health literacy can change the world. Join us. Starting October 2025, a paid membership will be required to access benefits and opportunities.

Benefits

IHLA membership gives you access to exclusive tools, learning resources, and events designed to support your growth. You’ll connect with peers worldwide, share expertise, and gain opportunities to collaborate, learn, and lead. You’ll also gain access to leadership opportunities, exclusive events, and ongoing updates that support your journey to make health information clearer and more accessible for all.

Individual membership

Individual membership gives you the chance to connect and collaborate with peers, access leadership opportunities, and contribute to advancing IHLA’s vision and mission. Members enjoy webinars, regular updates on health literacy research and practice, and priority registration and/or discounted rates on certain events.

Organizational membership

Organizational membership demonstrates a clear commitment to health literacy and offers access to global thought leadership and networks, and health literacy opportunities. Member organizations gain opportunities to sponsor high-visibility health literacy activities and engage in initiatives that advance the field worldwide.

Membership plans

Membership plans are tailored by individual or organizational status and by either country economy, using per capita GNI categories defined by the World Bank’s Country & Lending Groups (for individuals) or annual revenue (for organizations). This structure ensures access and equity for members worldwide, offering opportunities to connect, learn, and lead regardless of region or resources.
