The Nominations and Elections Committee looks forward to hosting a dynamic election with candidates from across the globe in 2027. We want you to participate as a voter, nominee, and/or candidate for office next year.
However, the 2027 IHLA elections differ from the past because you must be a paid member to vote and hold an IHLA elected position.
IHLA holds elections every three years for a new Vice President, Treasurer, and the members of the Standing Committees on: Research Standards, Practice Standards, and Nominations and Elections. IHLA’s constitution requires all nominees for elected positions and voters to be a ‘member in good standing.’ This means a person has paid full organizational membership fees.
As a result, starting next year for the first time, the IHLA Nominations and Elections committee (which oversees the election) will remove a nominee who is not a paid IHLA member from ballot consideration, and will not count votes from non-members. The Nominations and Elections Committee will check updated IHLA membership lists to determine member eligibility, as we did during the 2021 and 2024 elections.
Please rejoin IHLA to ensure your eligibility for election and office. We remind you that IHLA’s membership fees are now annual. Our sincerest thanks to existing IHLA paid members!
We hope that the opportunities to serve in an elected IHLA office and an inter
national leadership position represent two of IHLA’s unique membership benefits.
