Paid membership model
As part of IHLA’s long-term strategy to secure a sound and sustainable organization, starting October 2025 IHLA will transition to a paid annual membership model. This means that to continue accessing IHLA member benefits and opportunities, including leadership roles in elected or appointed positions or chairs, a paid membership will be required.
As a paid member, you'll receive access to:
Networking and collaboration with peers worldwide
Leadership opportunities and recognition pathways
Webinars and learning resources
Regular updates on health literacy research and practice
Priority registration and/or discounted rates for events like the IHLA Summit
We're making this change to strengthen IHLA's ability to deliver value to our members, expand global engagement, and sustain high-quality programs.

If you've been with us since the early days, thank you for being a part of this journey! To continue enjoying your membership without interruptions, be sure to transition to a paid membership.
If you're new to our community, there's never been a better time to join! Become a part of a global network advancing health literacy through connection, collaboration, and impact.

More details about membership, pricing, and renewals:
Annual membership: All paid memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of subscription.
Membership plan pricing: Plan pricing is tailored by individual or organizational status and by either country economy, as determined by the World Bank (for individuals), or annual revenue (for organizations).
Renewal: The new paid memberships do not automatically renew. To maintain benefits, members must renew each year. You will receive email reminders before your membership expires with a link to renew.
Your membership helps strengthen a global movement for clear, trusted health communication. Let’s continue our combined efforts to make health literacy the standard—not the exception.
